School choirs set to entertain at Broadway Plaza
Two inner City Birmingham school choirs will be bringing some festive cheer to Broadway Plaza at Five Ways this Christmas.
Children from St George’s Primary School and Nelson Primary have been invited to entertain the lunchtime crowds on Thursday 11 December and Wednesday 17 December with a mix of carol singing, and even the sounds of a Brass Band!
Especially invited guests will include long-stay youngsters from Birmingham Children’s Hospital, who will be treated to an afternoon of bowling after listening to the carols thanks to Bowlplex. Built on the site of the original Children’s Hospital Broadway Plaza is a supporter of their Kidney Kids Appeal.
Arthur Webb, centre manager at Broadway Plaza, said: “It’s a lovely opportunity for all the children to come down and really get everyone into the Christmas spirit. I’ve heard that all the children have been practicing their carols and are really excited about performing.”
To add to the festive atmosphere Great British Eatery will be providing Roasted Chestnuts and Mulled Wine for the lunchtime crowds.
“There really is nothing quite like the sound of a children’s choir and the smell of roasting chestnuts to let you know it’s Christmas!” Arthur added.
The children from Nelson Primary will be performing from 11am on Thursday 11 December and St George’s School on Wednesday 17 December from 12.45pm.05/12/2008
