| BROADWAY PLAZA HOSTS VIP FANCY DRESS PARTY TO CELEBRATE HARRY POTTER RELEASE | |
Birmingham’s Broadway Plaza transformed into a world of Muggles, witches and wizards when it held a charity VIP fancy dress party and private viewing of Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince,
Just 400 tickets were available to the exclusive Harry Potter themed evening which raised funds for Birmingham Children’s Hospital’s Kidney Kid’s appeal, which aims to raise £1.5 million for a new renal unit.
The VIP party was hosted by ten-pin bowling operator Bowlplex, where guests met Harry Potter animals including owls, snakes, rats and toads, won fantastic prizes in the fancy dress competition, were wowed by magician Marcus Dominiscus, drank pumpkin juice from a cauldron, got their faces painted, danced at the disco, tucked into a tasty buffet and entered a free draw to win fantastic prizes donated by Broadway Plaza tenants.
The guests were then led to the AMC cinema, where they picked up a free bag of popcorn before settling down for their private viewing of Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince – the sixth film in the record-breaking Harry Potter films series.
Arthur Webb, manager at Broadway Plaza, said the Harry Potter night was one to remember: “The charity evening was a fantastic night out for families, colleagues and friends of all ages. It was great to see the Plaza full of Harry Potters, Dumbledores and Hermoines.
“We are still counting the amount of money collected for the Children’s Hospital, which the Plaza is really proud to be supporting.”
Fidelis Hynam, Corporate Fundraising Manager at Birmingham Children’s Hospital, added: “Broadway Plaza is so generous with their support. The night was one to remember for children and the ‘big kids’ amongst us’.”
The Harry Potter Charity Night was been arranged as part of Broadway Plaza’s Little Stars Appeal – a year-long campaign to raise money for the Birmingham Children’s Hospital’s Red Balloon Fundraising project.
