Midnight movie mania hit Birmingham’s Broadway Plaza as hundreds of fans turned out to watch New Moon, the latest film in the Twilight Saga.
The Plaza’s AMC Cinema had to arrange a second screening of the film after the first screening, at 12.01am, sold out days in advance.
Miguel Sanchez, general manager of the cinema, said: “Demand to see the film was so high that we had to put on another screening to accommodate demand. I haven’t known a film series be so popular since Harry Potter.”
The series tells the story of a romance between Bella, a teenage mortal, and Edward, a decades-old vampire. Many of tonight’s Twilight fans are expected to turn out in fancy dress.
