| CELEBRATE WORLD MUSIC WEEK AT BROADWAY PLAZA |  |
August marks the 5th Birthday of Broadway Plaza, one of Birmingham’s premier leisure and entertainment venues. And, to help celebrate the Plaza will be hosting a week of World Music every evening between 6-9pm on 13-16 August.
From New Orleans inspired Jazz to the Latin sounds of Salsa, customers can kick back at one of the Plaza’s many bars and eateries and enjoy some eclectic musical sounds.
Highly acclaimed Latin trio, La Cuba Ritmo, will be kicking off the week on Wednesday 13 August to bring the sounds of summer to Broadway Plaza. On Thursday 14 August Birmingham Jazz band the Andy Peate Quartet will be performing.
Playing impressive traditional African music created with drums, percussion and stringed instruments, Explosive Nzakomba, an African group fronted by Daniel Isakongo from the Demographic Republic of Congo will take to the stage on Friday. Their passionate and joyous melodies are guaranteed to bring anyone to their feet.
Rounding off the week on Saturday 16 August Après will be hosting an early evening BBQ outside on the central stage of the Plaza where the Doctors of Jazz will take to the stage.
Arthur Webb, Broadway Plaza’s centre manager, said: “Broadway Plaza has enjoyed a really successful five years since we opened in 2003. It‘s the only City Centre location to offer such a large mix of entertainment venues in one complex.
“To help celebrate the birthday, along with some great musical acts throughout the week, many of the Plaza’s restaurants and bars will be having special offers, so what better way to enjoy summer evening!” 25/07/2008
