| COUPLE WIN HOTEL BREAK IN VALENTINE?S COMPETITION | |
A lucky couple won themselves a luxury hotel break after visiting Broadway Plaza?s AMC cinema over Valentine?s weekend.
Everyone who visited the cinema on 14 and 15 of February was invited to enter a competition to describe their favourite romantic movie in no more than 30 words.
Diane and John White, from Stirchley, won themselves a night?s stay at the Birmingham Marriott Hotel after writing about romantic comedy Love Actually.
Ironically the couple had not gone to see a romantic film during their Valentine?s Day trip to the movies. Instead they had gone to see post-apocalyptic war film Book of Eli.
Mrs White said she was delighted with their prize, which also includes a pampering spa treatment:
?We were over the moon to find out we?d won the first prize, it was such a lovely surprise.
?We can?t wait to be spoilt at the Marriott, it will feel like Valentine?s weekend all over again.?
AMC at Broadway Plaza also sold pink popcorn and gave customers a free packet of Lovehearts sweets to get them in the mood for romance.
Miguel Sanchez, general manager at AMC said: ?Our Valentine?s Day activities were a great hit. The pink popcorn went down a storm.
?We hope our competition winners have a fantastic break.?
